Title Background
Annotate

Annotate-On is an ergonomic tool for taking measurements of morphometric characters and for documentation by annotating digital duplicates of naturalist specimens and various photographic and sound sources.

Annotate-On is freely available to the scientific community to carry out research on mainly naturalist collections. It contains tools to easily and quickly perform morphological and morphometric analyzes on images: physical measurements (lengths , perimeters, surfaces, angles), marking and counting of points of interest, and descriptive annotations.

The images can come from various sources: in addition to the Recolnat infrastructure database, any online image URL, or even images from a hard drive, a camera, a microscope, etc. These image libraries can be categorized using the software's keyword management tool.

You can also work with images taken with a camera in the field, Annotate being able to work without an Internet connection. Finally, the results of the measurements and annotations can be used in the LibreOffice and Excel spreadsheets. By July 2019, he will be able to work with

, Biodiversity data management software, or exported to it. Observations and measurements based on these models can be exported to spreadsheets, data processing software, the R application or even deep learning modules.

The direct link between Annotate-On and the Recolnat database allows direct import of images and metadata from the 10 million specimens available online.
